This is artwork I created in 1975 using a plethora of techniques in the darkroom and hand tinting to create the finality of the idea I had. This was originally photographed on B&W film, then the negative was printed onto a negative B&W slide film, and from there I let the reversal slide sit in a solution of Potasium Ferracinide for a week as it slowly ate and etched into the slide. Later I finished out the piece by hand tinting the image.

Wernher Krutein has, since childhood, formulated a reverence for a world he describes as "simply beautiful, enormously complex, and lovingly profound." In this quest he has taken well over three million photographs and hundreds of hours of film and video footage all over the planet. His endeavor is no less than the documentation of the Universe. For the last forty years he has devoted his life to the cataloging and archiving of the best of this imagery into a filing system he invented called FLUID LOGIC (tm).
